Royal Bank Of Canada
My work experience in the Royal Bank Of Canada:
In my work at the bank I learnt man things and improved on certain stuff I already knew, for instance I developed my understanding of microsoft tools like microsoft word, microsoft excel and many more. I also learnt what the bank does and the different things they do, for instance their not the kind of bank that actually gets the money in front of them, their the kind of bank that has the money on the computer and invests in stocks and shares, I asked certain staff members of the bank if the bank is a gambling bank because they invest in stocks and shares, but they said no because they are sensible with investing they dont gamble big amounts of money that could come out as a big financial loss. I also got asked to do some figures on the computers and do research on some people that were very risky with their banks when it came to stocks and shares. If I got offered a job from the bank I would most likely say no, because i dont want to be sitting behind a desk all day or in an office I prefer a more practical job like interacting with small children in the nursery, I did find this job though very enjoyable, it was fun learning about what their bank does and seeing how they all work in different departments. |

My work experience in Grove park nursery:
In my work at the nursery i learnt some things but i already knew most of it, for instance having little brothers and sisters i know what its like to look after little kids and how everyone sais it is easy, they must be joking. I learnt some new things like having to take control of a small group of children/being in charge. It wasn't easy but it had to be done, I gained more confidence in taking control of a group, especially a group of small children who scream and just make a lot of noise in general. saying all of this with children is hard work it was actually enjoyable if they offered me a job i would probably take it, its very hands on and not sitting behind a desk all day kind of thing. |
Daily routine for the nursery
Everyday I woke up at 6 I got in the shower had some breakfast got dressed and was out the door by about 8, I walked to the bus stop got on a 261 to Grove Park, got off at Grove Park station and walked up a short hill to the nursery. I usually was in the nursery by about 8:45 but instead of waiting in the staff room, I took off my shoes (because your only aloud to wear socks or slippers) and just got on with my work. Which started with supervising the children whilst they play with their toys, then escorting them to the back garden so they can all play outside, then circle time/group time. It was then time for my lunch break which was from 12-1 and when i came back in from getting my chicken haha, the children were all sleeping downstairs apart from a few that didn't go to sleep and stayed upstairs, so me and the other work experience kids were all upstairs supervising the few children that were still awake. By 2 we had to wake up the children and the older ones would come back upstairs from their sleep for the rest of the day, the rest of the day would just involve sleepy children who are too tired to scream and cry, so usually the best part of the day was the afternoon when they were all quite hahaha.
Daily routine for the bank
Everyday I woke up at 6 I got in the shower had some breakfast got dressed and was out the door by about 7:50, I walked to Lee station which took about 10 minutes, I then got on 8:10 train to cannon street, I then got off the train at London Bridge station about 8:30 depending on the trains, I then walked out of the station and walked over London Bridge to the bank, I got upstairs and was ready to work from about 8:40-8:45 but usually I went through what I was going to do on that day with my contact Brian Freeman (friend of the family) and just waited for my work to start with a nice hot chocolate (which i had regularly). My work usually consisted of finance and how to develop my skills with microsoft tools, I can't go into to much detail because it is meant to all be confidential but I did have a fun time learning, but I wouldn't go back their if they offered me a job because im not the kind of person to enjoy a office job where I am sitting behind a desk all day it gets too boring.
