Moving Images
Eadweard Muybridge was the man who used photography to explain how a horse moved. He proved to everyone that just for a split second that all feet of the horse come off the ground.

Stop Motion and Times Lapse
Time-lapse photography is a technique whereby the frequency at which film frames are captured (the frame rate) is much lower than that used to view the sequence. When played at normal speed, time appears to be moving faster and thus lapsing. For example, an image of a scene may be captured once every second, then played back at 30 frames per second. The result is an apparent 30-times speed increase. Time-lapse photography can be considered the opposite of hig speed photography or slow motion.
The ALMA timelapse.
Processes that would normally appear subtle to the human eye, e.g. the motion of the sun and stars in the sky, become very pronounced. Time-lapse is the extreme version of the cinematography technique of undercranking, and can be confused with stop motion animation.

I like this video because of all the lights and scenery, I also think them showing over time how they built the stadium was a great idea because it shows how much progress they made over a course of time/ shows you the building of it.
The one of the city at night time at the end was amazing showing you the lights turning on at the city as it turns night and it shows the cruise boats and everything going past on the river. I think the artist was trying to capture life in the day and the night of the city, the artist also shows working life (the making of the stadium), they capture different lighting and everything as well. |

I like this stop motion film because its making the impossible, possible. I also like this film because it must have taken a long time for each image to be perfect to make this stop motion film, so you kind of have respect that they stuck with it for so long to make it just right. I think the artist of this film wanted to make people believe anything can possible through pictures, its a brilliant design and it just makes you think what could i do to show my creativity like these guys did. I like the bit where he is grinding the man skateboard on the ledge bit because it damages your skateboard doing that so you can just think of what would happen to the man if it was real, it would kill but its a great idea, it was also brilliant that they included jumping over the car. |
